Safety & Quality

In Germany, human cell and tissue transplants of human origin are regulated as medicinal products and/or require approval. This means that their production, biological safety, and clinical application are subject to oversight by German authorities. In DIZG's cleanrooms, all regulatory requirements are strictly followed.

DIZG allografts in compliance with GMP/GFP

Since its founding, approximately 868,000 transplants have been delivered infection-free.

Every year, patients with severe injuries benefit from around 230 different types of transplants. During this time, no incidents have been reported in which a transplant was confirmed as the cause of a microbiological or viral infection. Furthermore, there have been no reports of rejection of DIZG transplants. This remarkable track record highlights the reliability of the DIZG manufacturing process and serves as compelling evidence of the safety of our transplants.

DIZG transplants are sterilized in cleanrooms according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GFP (Good Professional Practice) using a validated process. They are then preserved and packaged in compliance with regulatory requirements.

DIZG holds eleven pharmaceutical approvals and two authorizations for human tissue transplants.

The system for ensuring the biological safety of DIZG tissue transplants consists of:

  • Extensive criteria for donor selection
  • Comprehensive serological donor screening, including viral genome analysis
  • Bioburden analysis of donated tissue after preparation and before sterilization
  • Application of a validated process for the removal/inactivation of viruses, bacteria, and fungi
  • In-process and final controls on the transplant

The use of DIZG transplants is subject to documentation requirements under the transplantation act (TPG).

All dimensions are approximate or minimum values and are subject to variations due to preparation and tissue characteristics. explanations and instructions for the application of the transplants can be found in the usage and professional information included in each package.
